We were blessed to work with this homeowner - only the 3rd since the Georgian Colonial style home was built in 1919 - who needed slightly more space for a Family Room, but wanted to maintain the character of the home. Luckily the homeowner had the home's original blueprints. In 1919, the side addition was an open-air porch on both levels, with French doors from both levels. In the 1970s, the porches were poorly enclosed with siding. In 2019, the slightly wider side addition matches the details designed by the original architect nearly exactly, but encloses the first floor space as a Family Room. Above the new room is a luxurious open-air screened porch retreat with direct access from Owners' Bedroom.
