Awkward to Amazing main floor renovation

From the original awkward layout of this home to the revitalized kitchen, living, and dining areas, this home is now a show-stopper home for gathering and joy.  

With a seamless blend of functionality and aesthetics in bold blue and white, the kitchen is a culinary haven for chefs and children alike.  From modern appliances to sleek countertops and ample storage, every detail matters.  The spacious walk-in pantry hosts extra dishes and meaningful pieces for the family's past. 

Living and dining areas are now open and inviting spaces, perfect for gathering with family and friends. The old kitchen was converted to a stunning new Mudroom and Laundry, with access to the back yard, garage, basement, and living room. Custom cubbies are perfect for kids (and dogs!), for a clean and clutter-free everyday entry, with designated spaces for shoes, coats, and other outdoor gear.

A stylish and functional bathroom fit in the former laundry room, with new easy access to the existing home office.  Another half bath was added in the wasted space below the existing stairs, maximizing every square inch of the home.  

Functionally and aesthetically a new home - the new reorganized layout fits within the existing footprint, saving homeowners the costly expense of an addition.

Awkward to Amazing

Contemporary Conversion

The brick ranch home had solid bones but hadn't been updated since it was built in 1969. The Kitchen, Living and Dining rooms were completely divided and awkwardly laid out. We opted to remove all the interior walls of the space to provide clear sightlines and flexible space for the expansive footprint. The entire home was updated with wood floors, stunning cabinets and impeccable finishes. The basement was finished as a large open space with Bed, Bath, Laundry, and new egress-compliant safety windows and wells.  An industrial vibe was created by painting the entire exposed basement ceiling space black. Photos by Owner.

Blue Bliss Open Kitchen Reno

Formerly a series of boxy rooms, the space is now spacious as a fabulous open-concept kitchen, dining, and living room space.  The stunning blue accent wall is home to 27' of display / storage cabinetry and gorgeous gallery wall. the light-blue primary wall color extends to the ceiling's wood ceiling, reminiscent of a southern front porch. Lightly stained oak floors are an excellent background for crisp white cabinetry and a navy blue island.  Contemporary wood and black steel rail are complimented by black hardware throughout.  The renovation extended down the hall to a bath, primary bedroom, and two teen bedrooms, each with expanded closets.

Whole House Renovation

We worked with this favorite repeat client over the course of 10+ years.  The Kitchen, Living and Dining rooms were opened up for a large Great Room with fireplace built-ins, a secondary Laundry / Away Room was added in the unused space over the Garage of the Owners Bedroom, and an in-law suite was added with private Bath and entrance patio.  The Basement was finished to include a Family Room with theatre surround sound an stage, Bedroom, Bath, Office, full Bar, Laundry/Utility/ Storage, and rec room for ping-pong table. Curated Condo

Every space in this home—kitchen, living, dining, laundry, bedrooms and baths—was reimagined with precision and artistry. Luxurious finishes, layered textures, and thoughtful detailing transform a standard condo into an elegant, livable gallery. The result is a cohesive, light-filled home that feels both contemporary and timeless—proof that eclectic yet refined design can flourish in any scale.

Accessible Split-Level Sanctuary

With growing teens and increasing mobility issues for their mom, this house was purchased solely for its 4,600sf and "good bones".  The terribly dated split-level house was gut down to the studs, with most of the interior walls on both levels removed entirely.  

The new layout has a sprawling 26' long Kitchen, with a 10' long island and plenty of space on all sides for future wheelchair maneuvering.  Large windows and the skylights provide ample daylight into the space, creating a bright and inviting space.  Open to the Dining and Living rooms, the Kitchen welcomes friends and family alike to the heart of the home. The new railing overlooks the massive entryway, which now serves as the open Mudroom.  The added volume ceilings in the main level increase airiness throughout. A new Bedroom was created off the Living room with views overlooking the back yard.  Down the hall from the Kitchen is the Owners' Suite, large Laundry room and Hall Bath, created from the previous space of 3 Bedrooms and 2 Baths.  The new Owners Suite has ample maneuverability, an expansive roll-in closet, and a beautiful bath with shower, private toilet room and dedicated make-up vanity. 

The lower level is home to a large Rec Room with fireplace, an Exercise room, 3 additional Bedrooms and Hall Bath, and ample storage and utility space - with walk-out access to the patio and back yard. 

The house now boasts 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, and sprawling living spaces on 2 levels.  Contemporary fixtures and furnishings as well as ample spacing make for a beautiful and accessible home.

The exterior of the home was updated with new siding, trim, windows and front doors. A new covered Porch and in-ground Pool will be added in Phase 2.

Homely to Heart of the Home

Looking like so many homes in the neighborhood, this home lacked character, functionality, and overall appeal.  The new covered porch protects from weather and offers a design element breaking up the original mansard roofline.  

A small 1-story addition at the back of the house seamlessly connects the new kitchen seated between the family and dining rooms.  A space for culinary masterpieces, the kitchen is a combination of modern functionality with timeless elegance. The family and formal dining areas were meticulously redesigned, creating inviting spaces perfect for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations. The much-needed mudroom offers plenty of storage to keep the home organized and clutter-free, while the laundry area brings convenience and efficiency out of the basement.

Transitional Transformation

Refined Rustic Kitchen & Exterior Refresh

This 1960s split-level home desperately needed a change - not bigger space, just better.  We removed the walls between the kitchen, living, and dining rooms to create a large open concept space that still allows a clear definition of space, while offering sight lines between spaces and functions.  Homeowners preferred an open U-shape kitchen rather than an island to keep kids out of the cooking area during meal-prep, while offering easy access to the refrigerator and pantry.  Green glass tile, granite countertops, shaker cabinets, and rustic reclaimed wood accents highlight the unique character of the home and family.  The mix of farmhouse, contemporary and industrial styles make this house their ideal home.

Outside, new lap siding with white trim, and an accent of shake shingles under the gable.  The new red door provides a much needed pop of color.  Landscaping was updated with a new brick paver and stone front stoop, walk, and landscaping wall.

Double Island Kitchen & Sunroom

The 2-year-old home had formal Kitchen, Dining and Sunroom spaces, each divided from one another, with limited sight lines to their back yard. The Sunroom was opened up and converted to a finished space, open to the Kitchen, Dining and Breakfast spaces.  The Kitchen was completely reoriented and redesigned, adding 2 working islands, with open views and arched sink island looking through the Sunroom to the yard. The adjacent Mudroom / Laundry was redesigned slightly to allow for easier access to the home from the Garage, including the addition of a built-in Drop Zone..
